The Environment Project

Reclaimed Currents
My sculpture is large as a statement about the gargantuan problem of human waste, in contrast with the vastness of the ocean and nature. I placed the plastic buoys in the middle of the forest to express my thoughts on the displacement and disruption on the environment through such man-made problems like pollution, climate change, and habitat destruction; it is a visual metaphor calling on people to talk about our environment. I want viewers to think about taking care of the environment as a holistic process. Taking care of the ocean and sea are connected to the rest of our lives. No one part of our environment can be left out of our whole lives.

Four Seasons

I wanted to capture the four seasons in Gotjawal- a forest biome on Jeju Island, South Korea. Altogether these photographs I took share the ephemeral beauty of nature and its effect on our perception of a place. I wanted to evoke a question of what nature is to the viewer, reminding them of the intricate beauty that exists in an evanescent moment.
